I have been trying to find out who these "gorillas" are but past issues of the San Jose Mercury News are unavailabe on the web without a service account. If it would not be too much trouble, could you repost the names. It would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony D.

Gottfried, >Paul, last week the San Jose Mercury News published an article about Silicon Valley "gorillas". Those are the top companies in each of 14 sectors. (out of the 150 largest Silicon Valley companies) These 14 gorillas accounted for 58% of sales and 88% of profits of the 150 companies. Profits as % of sales for two sectors: Semiconductors with Intel 19.6% Semiconductors without Intel 5.8% Semi equip with Applied Materials 5.5% Semi equip without Applied M. -0.7% This was in the April 19. issue hard copy page 6E.<

Thanks! Ain't it great to own a gorilla. I will see if I can look up the paper on NAA Hotlinks (has all the US newspapers) via Yahoo.
