To All.....

I am a past short-seller of Ride (in 95-96) and did quite well doubting the Salter-era company. I have revisited this stock recently and am impressed with the job management is doing in most all areas, with the exception of apparel. I believe their hardgood market-position will expand significantly this year as the continue to displace K2 at the #2 slot. K2 had an awful last season with product quality and nearly all the retailers were late in getting their shipments of products(a big no-no at retail). Burton continues to lead this market but is certainly susceptible to slippage of market-share. They are very smart and have served the board market well, but are vulnerable at price-point.
This all equates to a net positive for Ride and will be reflected as such in the post-show order flow. My concern is firmly centered on the apparel side of the business. Ride soft-goods are nothing special and the retailers know this. Margins on soft-goods are large and could account for, ultimately a much larger share of the revenue base than presently exists. We need to let the company know that its apparel program is inadequate and needs re-focusing.
Lastly, as for the anti-takeover provisions....they make sense for all shareholders as a low-ball hostile bid would rob us of any serious up-side. I want this management team to have the full confidence to leverage up the profitability of this company without the distraction of fighting off any basement-bidders. I plan on voting my 75,000shrs for those provisions in proxy and urge you to avoid any $4-6 bids as I believe that the stock should reach low double-digits within 52 weeks.
Lets liven up this thread with any responses.
