RE: The Joke Will Be On Rocky?

>> The joke will be on him next Q. <<

I doubt that the joke will be on Rocky. He makes enough predictions that at least ONE of them will have to come true. And he'll tout that one prediction for months until the next one comes true. (Of course he won't mention the hundreds of false predictions...)

DVD ZdNet Article

You want to know why Jaz, Syjet, and Orb will all take a hit?

www8.zdnet.com
"DVD-recordable drives--tentatively called DVD-RAM--are already in the works. The initial capacity of discs created on these drives will be only 2.6GB. But unlike CD-recordable discs, DVD-RAM discs will be erasable. This provides enormous flexibility for backing up, archiving, and transporting large amounts of data.

Few technologies hit the market assured of dominating the industry--this is one of them. The question isn't whether DVD will be a part of your future; it's when you'll make the conversion."

Remember, not everyone currently buying Jaz, SyJet, etc. need ultra-fast random access. A lot of users only need lots of space, along with random access. CD/DVD is better than tape for access, and much cheaper than Jaz for archive, storage, backup. I'm buying one. Based on my visit to J&R Computer today, I'm not the only one.
