Re Microsoft's "initiative".

Apart from the free plug for Reuters subsidiary Tibco, there does not seem to be a great deal of substance to this. From the few clues that the reporter drops, it looks more like a response to IBM's San Francisco project. There are no products announced, no indication (apart from the catch-all "middleware") of any particular technology.

I'd ignore it for the time being, it may turn out to be harmless.

BEAS really took a beating today, down more than 10%.
Do you know of any reason for this other than MSFT competition?
