Hi Jim P....Re:<<If I were a bull, I would love this.>>

We are and we do. As far as doing good, I think you can review the IDC and Dataquest numbers if you prefer an impartial estimation.

Regards,

Lee

JP,

The monitor may have been 'valued' at $250 when it was manufactured, but it is rally 'junk' to anyone that has used a computer much. It reminds me of a 'yard' sale. If you set the prices too high, you have to 'pay' to take the 'junk' to the dump. You are better off to 'give' the stuff away on the 'last' day, than having to spend money to cart it away. As for applying the 'free' monitor to the 'price of a new monitor' how does that work? What is 'free' trade in at? $250? Does that mean that I can get the system for $250 less if I already have a monitor? Or does CPQ just sell the system without the monitor, and you have the choice of a free 14" monitor, or 'pay' for the monitor that you want?

As for DELL talking about how well they are doing, I would make the following comment. The information that is being released is in response to the questions that are being asked. Do you not answer questions that you are asked? It isn't like DELL is taking out 'full page' ads, thumping their chest and proclaiming their greatness.

BTW - What are the 'speed' of the p-IIs that are combined with the 'free' monitors?

Have a great day!

Ken

Hi Jim,

I'm curious as to whether you are long anything in the tech sector. It would be my guess you are short the boxmakers?

Oh by the way, no I would not disagree with you that Bill Gates said that Win98 will not be the big driver that Win95 was, but how often have you heard him low-ball his comments and estimates? But I heard a tech analyst say on CNBC the other day that unlike Win95, Win98 would be under-hyped but will do very well besides. But you are ignoring the other thing that Bill Gates said namely that Win NT will be the huge driver for MSFT instead of Win98.
