Anton:

Where did I discourage anyone from taking action? I recently defended that position. I have no more proof of the severity of what will happen than you do. There is a contingency that could accuse you of yelling fire in a crowded theater but I'm not one of them. I do expect problems.

I expect companies like TAVA and others have and continue to form alliances and engagements and that they will be successful plugging some of the holes in time. There will likely come a time soon when things such as utilities will be prioritized...small businesses likely will be near the bottom of that food chain though ranked if they fit into a critical supply chain.

I'm not going to spend any time trying to provide different information. We're likely to be referring to most of the same research. If you wonder how I can say that then look at the recent post about the incident at DIA. I forgot who posted the article but he and I read the same thing and drew 2 different conclusions. He saw it as a breakdown by the masses and I saw it as holding up pretty well.

You say you're getting the word out. What good does that do without recommending what people do since your so sure the whole infrastructure will falter? I've documented what I'm doing. If you believe more is needed then provide some answers yourself. Yelling "tidal wave, build your lifeboats" is something I don't find particularly productive.

Next month after getting settled (I'm moving) I plan to contact the local emergency services to see how they are prepared to assist pending any Y2K-related crisis for the community. I will be concerned for the elderly and fragile/disabled. What are you doing?

Seems to me no matter what extent the problem, whether slight to severe, that grass-roots efforts are usually the most effective. Again my belief that the human spirit will prevail.

I don't see any of my statements have spread any "false sense of security". Telling people not to do anything or that Y2K is a hoax does IMO. Expressing an opinion that the severity differs from your opinion is what I'm guilty of.

It just boils down to you're being at one end of the spectrum, people like Bill Wexler are at the other and people like John Rakoci and myself are somewhere in between. Sorry if that bothers you.

One last word (from me) cuz I'm not going to get into a debate...take a look at what Saddam Insane did to his own people in Northern Iraq with biochemical weaponry...and follow that through with what it did to them genetically that will be passed on to all their future generations...and then see what it did to the landscape and environment. Don't tell me where to place my concerns. Go build your ark, I'm building mine...and I say this respecting your position; we just differ in our opinions to the extent of the future outcome.
