Airlines analysis

The Sector for airlines is sure to have reversed down yesterday (confirmation tonight) but taking it as a fact now, I want to look at some of the individual securities. Is it time for some shorts? Is it time to cover? I am decidedly negative on this sector. Airlines don't like higher oil prices and they don't like higher interest rates. Sector at the 74% level with support in the 42% level.

AMR: After reaching the top of its trading band at 162, it reversed down to 146. Today it offered a small rally but not enough to turn the daily momentum back to positive. RS still strong. Bullish support line at 132, 130 is the stop for those long, 134 for those on a trade.

DAL: Just broke a quad bottom and the bullish support line. The RS is in a column of O's. Daily and weekly momentum is negative. Would look to cover if long. For shorting, stop is 130 with a price objective in the 90's.

UAL: Just broke a triple bottom and a spread double bottom as well as the bullish support line. RS is in a column of O's. Daily/weekly momentum is negative. Would cover long positions. For shorting, stop of 94 price objective in the upper 70's.

U: Just broke a double bottom. Still above bullish support lines and RS is still positive. Daily/weekly momentum is negative. Would look to hedge long positions. For shorting, support at the 62 level.

Jan--Do you know where I could find the exact dates for each
nyse bullish percent chart reversal from a column of xxx's to
ooo's and vice versa for the last 15 years or so. I plan on determining how an investor in an indexed fund (eg. sp 500 or
dow 30) would have fared if he sold on the reversal to ooos
and bought on the reversal to xxx's over this period, as
compared to someone who simply stayed in the market.

thanks-ray

I don't know if that info is available at dorsey cite, again
I do subscribe
