Hello All

I am not sure if you have all noticed the new "Related Subjects" link at the top of the page. A nice new feature from SI.

I would still like to have the "Messages Pending" link back however.

Regards

A bit of a nerve or sound business sense?
An article which appeared in Business Day 24 April 1998.

THE 29 heirs who have laid claim to the mineral rights on the Marsfontein farm in the Northern Province seem to not be terribly impressed by the strength of De Beers' balance sheet or its 60 years in the diamond business. When the time came last week to finalise the sale of their rights to De Beers, they demanded a bank-guaranteed cheque.

Neither De Beers nor NGS Minerals, the company holding the rights on behalf of the heirs to the original owner, a Mr Jordaan, will disclose the purchase price. It is estimated at R70m-R75m by SouthernEra, the Canadian junior which lost out.
