Yes I know! When my wife and I lived in Southern California we had a house which we bought in early 1992 for $320K. The person we bought the house from had bought it 3 years earlier in 1989 for $600K. We thought we got a really good deal! We spent an additional 20K-25K in upgrading the house (which it really didnt need), and about 3 months after we bought the house the market went down further and our house was worth $270-$275K! 3 years later when we moved to Silicon Valley in 1995 we rented the house and finally sold it last year for $285K!! Today (about 8 months later) that same house we sold for $285K is selling for about $330K! Go figure!

And then of course we have the Silicon Valley whose housing market rose by 13% just in the month of March alone!!
