Dell, Intel Announce Initiatives to Enhance Future
Enterprise Computing and Internet Technologies

ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 1998--Dell Computer Corporation,
(NASDAQ:DELL - news), the world's leading direct computer systems company, and Intel Corporation [Nasdaq:INTC - news] today announced they are working together to enhance future enterprise segment and Internet computing technologies.

Both companies will contribute development resources in a series of cooperative initiatives as part of the agreement. The initiatives will focus on several key areas of technology development including:

Enabling customers and software providers to transition their software applications to next-generation IA-64(TM) computing environments. Dell plans to build Application Solution
Centers in both America and in Europe to assist customers and ISVs in porting their applications to IA-32 and IA-64 platforms.
Enhancing the capabilities and performance of workstations and servers through Pentium(R)
II Xeon(TM) processor-based architecture.
Enabling Internet service providers to migrate to standardized Intel Architecture platforms;
Promoting E-Business computing environments through expanded use of the Internet.

Enterprise computing refers to geographically dispersed users, networks and hosts that work together intelligently and synergistically.
