Just got back from the H & Q meeting today. Bob F. looked sharp and well tanned. His manner is moderately confident. He said that earnings would be posted on this Thursday, no time given. Because of this upcoming announcement he could not speak about the current quarter. He gave absolutely no hint or any kind of clue as to what these earnings are going to be. Instead he talked about the company's game plan and the database marketplace. He said that IFMX is focused on providing a high end, high performance product to customers who's database information is especially critical to their performance.

He mentioned the new management team is in place with mostly new members except in the technology side of the company where he says the former R & D people, code writers, and product developers, etc. have stayed on. He also mentioned that these tech. people are excellent.

IFMX's goal is to differentiate itself from the competition, and not try to compete with Microsoft, and the prepackaged products.

The room was about 2/3 full, not packed, and the "enegy" level was moderate. The presentation was well executed and organized. It didn't have the excitement of a Cisco meeting... probably need a few more quarters of good earnings to get that. I walked out thinking I "hope" the numbers on Thursday are good because I just couldn't get any kind of clue on that by Bob's manner.

I have been following this stock since Bob took over and it isn't his style to hype at all. On the conference calls he has said what he was planning to do, and then he did it and let the results speak for themselves. So far so great I would say. In his own words, IFMX is not a turnaround, it is a new company.

Sharing your hopes for a good quarter, RS
