Eddie,

If I were Jamison or Carter, I wouldn't even have to think about it - I'm out of here, going for the money!

Go Devils!

Andrew

EDDIE --- I might be wrong but that 100 million share buyback does not start until a year from now . The reason being that the shares were issued to employees as part of a equity partnership that will not come due until the second qtr next year based upon performance .
As SATYR said it is PR for now .
Still waiting for CPQ management to do something definitive about the issues at CPQ ---I keep hearing about the layoff's for DEC etc but DEC is bringing earnings to the party . UNTIL CPQ decides to shut down excess production , increases sales or restructure in the PC business this stock is not going anywhere . I bought the stock due to the strong reputation that management had ( whose credibility has disappeared per WALL STREET ).As far as I can see they have not made any tough decisions ---just selling PC'S at cost

BEST WISHES
BILL

Give me a break! CPQ's performance was excellent today. So good, that I'm long by a boatload and carload of shares at 27'7. You must be short since you say:

"Pretty piss poor performance by CPQ today."

The market is what dragged CPQ down under the 28 level along with some other rather sterling stocks. The failure to drop under 27'3 and subsequent rally with HUGE support at 27'4 at the end were very positive.

Re: "I think management should start that buying back shares soon."

How do you know CPQ wasn't buying in the market today?
