[ VLSI ]

Franco,

I pretty much confirm your observations about VLSI. However, I'm always a little bit concerned whenever a stock closes above its upper Bollinger Band. There tends to be a minor pullback when I see such events taking place due to the interpretation that such heights relative to the BB represent near term overbought levels. It would certainly provide an opportune entry point if such a pullback were to occur.

Note, however, that VLSI is only expected to grow earnings by an average compounded rate of 2.4% for the next 7 quarters. It appears that their earnings slump is in the midst of a turnaround, and I expect that this poor year-over-year comparison of the earnings will have a tendency to pull back any sustainable upward movement for the issue. This makes me a little cautious in being too confident of the true change in trend.

Technically though, a breakout has occurred as of today's close.

Regards,

Rainier

[SNRS LISTING]

FJV,

SNRS has submitted all documents for listing. Was told by CFO
could be any day or a matter of weeks, whenever they get around
to it.

Regards,
Skane

[ Trend Change ]

Franco,

A good example of how a trend theoretically should change is seen on the Xylan (XYLN) charts: a downtrend, followed by a one-year consolidation period (i.e. the base), then followed up with a breakout from that base.

This could be VLSI on fast forward,

Regards,

Rainier
