Bob,

I find Adaptec a lot easier to deal with right now. I tried to buy more today, but I set my limit too low and I didn't get filled. In my mind, that is one of the most interesting plays in the tech stocks at the moment.

I continue to be very long LGNDW. I routinely make - and loose - a very nice luxury car in just a few days :-(

I'm wondering what the effect of the NDA is going to be on the stock. I do not believe the market has fully accounted for it yet; it is a first NDA and there is always some credibility issues lingering. So I am pretty sure we will get a pop. But will it be enough to take out the previous highs and launch us into new territory? If it doesn't, then I am going to be really worried about how long I will need to wait before the next news item comes and how far the stock will drop in the meantime.

One of the brokerage firms - and I do not remember which one - stated that there was at least the potential for two NDAs in the first half of 1998. If that were to happen, we might get a very nice sustained leg up.

Another big unknown is the effect of Targretin on human breast cancer. I am assuming that LGND is already moving on Phase III trials somewhere. It's got to be pretty easy to find people with advanced breast cancer who are willing to try it.

Just looking and wondering. And staying pretty busy working on my house and garden. And then there is my day job and the kids :-)

Cheers, Torben
