Victor, the very roots of Caldera sprang from Novell. In 1993 Ray funded a skunk works operation inside Novell call Expos‚. It later became known as The Corsair Project. It offered Novell a 32 bit OS based on Linux, application serving capabilities, Web serving and other internet functionality, it integrated many of Novell's core technologies and services, included a Web browser named Ferret, Virtual World interfaces, Windows emulation technologies (Willows), DOS emulation and DR DOS, and other bleeding edge technologies. Add best of breed applications (WP), and you have an extremely aggressive platform and product. During very complicated events, including Ray's departure from Novell in 1994, it eventually found a home outside Novell with Ray as Caldera, Inc. caldera.com Caldera is a licenser of Novell's NCPS, and are the exclusive providers to the Linux community of Novell services on the Linux platform. A lot of this information you can get from their web site. There are many ways Caldera is preparing to help Novell, if they desire (Novell). Caldera and all of our companies enjoy a very open relationship with Novell, and are always on the stand-by to help. As far as going public, it is always an option.
