JP,

I'm watching CPQ too! I don't know about AMD though. I went there for awhile, but the performance really didn't match my expectations.

IMHO, NT will be pretty good. I have NT 4.0 on an alternate platform to 'play with' and I really like some of the features. like 'mirrored' drives. I always have the fear that when I boot up some day, the HD doesn't turn! If you are 'mirrored', you just boot from the other disk! You will be up and running, but usually you still have some recovery to do, even if you are using a RAID system.

NT 4.0 hasn't hung me out like W95 does occasionally. I am hoping that W98 will fix some of those, and the large capacity disk drive support I am looking forward to. (I want to see what it would be like to have ~18G on line in 3 volumes instead of 9! NT can put the 18G in 1 volume set, or any other 'set' of drives, like 7 - 20G drives being 1 volume, ie c:

Regards,

Ken

<<So that, Long CPQ and short DELL may become a trade.>>

I almost pulled the trigger on a ARB between DELL and CPQ
when the fools announced they buy Digital. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.

How do folks out here handicap the race between CPQ and DELL
a) till DELL earnings
b) for 3 months
c) for 12 months...

Is it still a crazy idea to short CPQ and buy DELL, or are
the bad news really priced into CPQ now???
