Wow--career change notwithstanding, I can see that the actuarial extrapolation wheels are still in good working order! :-)

Thanks for the link. I believe that, perhaps the most significant statement in the piece may be:

...although some product segments will achieve robust double-digit growth rates," concluded Joe Grenier, vice president and director of Dataquest's Semiconductor Device programs.
so that, if LSI finds itself involved in all the right product segments (apart from the low-margin areas from which, as you have pointed out, it is exiting), the rosier growth rates are achievable.
