I'm having a bit of a tough time understanding you today, but I'll take a swing at things. (Once again, I think this is more appropriate to the GMTC board, but even after the miserable day today - THERE ARE STILL NO NEW POSTS!) Anyway, I am quite familiar with all of the fixed unit bingo equipment. Since this is the AGTI thread I'll stick to your request to compare GMTC and AGTI. You imply that GMTC equipment has higher service rates because it is inferior is some respect. That is incorrect. I have heard it said in other forums that AGTI's equipment was inferior. That also is not correct, and I have corrected that statement. Both companies have good technology. Here is a brief comparison and my observations. Both use PC based technology. Both use similar equipment. Depending on the age of the installation I have seen 486's through Pentiums. As the state of PC technology evolves every few days (or so it seems) I believe that there is no "standard" SKU's for either company. The difference lies more in the software and the support. After all, the hardware for either company isn't nuclear accelerators! Both systems work. Any hall would be better to have either system than none. I think your service related cost question is a matter of philosophy. AGTI has positioned itself as a "technology" company. It hasn't had the resources to build a large service organization. This is why ostensibly they did the deal with BTC. GMTC, on the other hand positions itself as a "service" organization. One of the reasons I believe they have gotten to be the leader in fixed units is because of the commitment to service. Not because "techs" are needed because equipment breaks all the time (anyone can change out broken equipment), but because of the value added a service company could add. It sounds like I'm touting the GMTC philosophy over the AGTI philosophy. While I have my personal opinion, the market has room for different types of companies. Full service gas usually costs more than self-serve. Both serve a purpose. While you didn't directly address this to me, I thought I'd jump in since I have some knowledge of fixed units (and have played them all). If this was a swat at tgs, please ignore me and send me some of your anti-incoherent pills. BTW - thanks for trying to save me from the evil tgs <G>, and damn it, I'm a complex easy working kind of guy who tries to lose a few bucks (at least today 3 out of 4 losers and the winner was a measly .01 at that!) <VBG>
