Interesting link from the Yahoo thread. futurelink.net "The world's first computing utility." They are very pro Thin Client. and know about NCD because they mention The University of Washington Medical Center has 1,200 thin clients and has bypassed two major upgrades of PC hardware in a six-year period! which can be found among the NCD success stories.

I think the chances are high that the software will need constant upgrades. I think for the first few years, the hardware will need upgrades (and the consumer well prepared for this from experience with PCs). After a short time, the NCs will be able to do EVERYTHING a consumer could ever desire at an affordable price.
