Poll: Knowing what we know about TDFX, knowing that TDFX knows every detail about what the competitors have announced, knowing how TDFX is perceived by the software industry, knowing that an OEM deal for a 2D/3D board can mean a much greater market share and much more revenue, knowing they also have engineers working on their own vaporware soon to be hardware, what do you think they are going to announce:

a. a 2D/3D Banshee board that performs on a par with the available/announced boards.

b. a 2D/3d Banshee board that is marginally improved over the competitors.

c. a 2D/3D Banshee board that pushes general distribution 2D/3D graphic cards to a new level for multi-purpose home pc use.

Now consider, they have yet to discuss their own plans for their next generation 3D accelerator. Would it be:

1. much better

2. awesome

3. mind boggling

Anything less than any of these options is simply not worth releasing. They would probably delay announcement/release, keep collecting on Voodoo 2 sales, and work to "catch up" with the competitors - yea right.

Taking the worst case scenarios (A1) they can song and dance their reputation/branding/glide improvements/etc. to maintain an edge. Not a terrible situation but puts them at risk to lose their leadership position - end result stock stays flat with wide trading ranges.

Best case scenario (A3) - we in the money$$$$$$$$$$$

Good Luck to everyone! Joe C.
