Candle,

Have noticed a large bias regarding AMZN outdoing all competion from first that have a specific interest in the internet? You article was one and my article was a mutual fund specializing in "internet" stocks.

Even the brokerage houses, such as DLJ Direct, have a vested interest in the internet.

Hmmm..

Can us shorts win against such biased reporting? We got the blind eyes of all the analysis being backed up by the millions in mutual fund money. Did you see the huge 100K blocks at around 2:00? Some 25 year fund manager throwing all he's got at Amazon. After all they did beat estimates. :)

CS - What we are witnessing is truly incredible. We have pseudo-analysts touting Amazon and the entire Internet retailing phenomenon , we have Wall Street houses shilling for the stock , and
then , to make matters worse , they all completely ignore the recent past and near-term future , and extrapolate their Amazon-will-be-king-of-all-online-commerce fantasy into the far distant future to somehow justify the current price ! This is incredible. What do they think is going to happen - all other retailers , manufacturers , etc. will just sit by and let AMZN have it all to themselves ? You've got to be kidding. This looks to me like an attempt to salvage an upside story in a seriously over-valued market teetering on the brink of a major correction. The hypesters seem to be firing on all cylinders in an assault on common sense . I look forward to increasing my short position and watching reality set in as the smoke clears from the hype attack...I still haven't seen the actual details of this note , with such info as interest rate , equity dilution potential , etc. - is it a convertible ? what secures it ?? etc.
