ALL: Does ASCEND buy chips from VTSS for its ATM switches?.

Ascend's products are primarily designed with PMC-Sierra,
Altera , Xilinx and custom ASICs. VTSS is a Gallium Arsinide
(GA) company which specializes in very high speed applications.
PMC-Sierra makes an OC-12 device (PM5355) which is their
highest speed device. This is a CMOS device which runs at
622 MBS. VTSS has a similar product that runs at 622
MBS which is GA. VTTS has a niche with its GA technology.
ASCEND is looking into VTSS for it 0C48-c applications.

ASND IR tells me that they have a policy of not disclosing their vendors. But as I recall Mory did not mention VTSS when I asked him at the BARS conference.

I recommend checking their website (VTSS's, I could not find it on ASND's) and possibly doing a search there.

I only know Plexus because they said it in one of Plexus' press releases. When I pressed IR on same I got the we don't disclose policy statement.
