Just returned from a two-day conference in NYC about legal and insurance issues regarding Y2K. One of the speakers was the Sr. VP of Cap Gemini who divulged details of their most recent Y2K Fortune 500 survey.

The part that caught my attention was that 90% of those responding had more than 50 million lines to fix! 21-30% had more than 100 million lines. 78% said their milestones are slipping and only 50% said they will bother to test.

As for the importance of using a tool like SmartCode:
Cap Gemini determined that the Indian body shops have an error rate of a whopping 15%. Often it takes 2-3 cycles (vendor to company) before the code is deemed fixed.
