Dear Russell

It is true that there is much evil in the world, but this argument seems irrational to me. Do you see any good in the world? Would the existence of good force us to accept
G-d the way evil seems to make you reject him?

I see a world which contains good and bad, and a choice that I am therefore forced to make. The mere fact that you are able to see the evil in the world proves the existence of good, or how would you know the difference? The problems that you point to are created by man, and G-d weeps with you about these problems. However he has granted us free will, and therefore must work with it's consequences. Suppose you had the opportunity to create a person to love you. Would you make her a robot? Or would you give her a choice? Would you really create mankind with no ability to choose to do wrong? If you did you would be doing little more than tending an ant farm or worse yet a toy store.

Thank you for the chance to speak with you on these things. I do enjoy honest conversation with all points of view.
