Perhaps the usually silent should keep silent. Tomorrow's close, assuming a relatively tranquil market, 2 23/32 on the ask. The institutions will sacrifice a few shares on the bid to hold the price up as they unload their positions. There may even be a slight rally to 3 1/16 in the morning, but 2 1/2 by the close of Friday.

(Should it matter, I have no position in Syquest or Iomega, but had been looking at establishing long positons in them until now. I wouldn't short either at present prices. Based on the earnings report, I doubt I'll be buying into Syquest.)

Shares outstanding

SyQuest states:

"At March 31, 1998 the Company had approximately 81.7 million common shares outstanding and approximately 51.4 million stock purchase warrants issued and outstanding. There would be approximately 164.3 million common shares outstanding if all stock purchase warrants and convertible preferred shares were exercised and converted as of April 15, 1998."

Why do they give us the status as of April 15th and not today? Why don't they include the almost 9 million shares accounted for in employee options when giving us their estimate of total future dilution?
