Hi Suresh

>>I saw from your postings that you were also bowled over by PFE

Not sure that "bowled over" is quite the expression that I would use but let me put it this way: PFE is a company with real earnings and a potential block-buster drug that has an appeal that goes beyond the mere physiological/therapeutic component. After all, when one is dealing with a drug that in most cultures -- and especially the Western culture--equates to a definition of manhood, it can't be ignored. Then when one hears that 20% of men suffer from some element of the sexual dysfunction that Viagra is supposed to address and that there is even the potential that it may help women -- one cannot help but wonder. Add to that the fact that the boomers will be reaching the age when certain things that one took for granted don't seem to respond as well as in the past -- and one sees a further source of potential.

To illustrate the significance of the drug in relation to the psyche of men -- just imagine what would have happened if Viagra had been a drug that addressed only female sexual dysfunction -- we would not have heard any of the bally-hoo that we are experiencing.

But apart from all of this--the reality is that this is not a one drug company. So even if Viagra does not ultimately demonstrate all of the promise that it appears to have -- the company had real earnings before Viagra and will doubtless do well, in the long run---without Viagra.

But I am in no hurry to own the stock -- will wait for proper entry and if that does not occur soon -- so be it.

>>I am a novice at the market for sex pills

Me too!! But one never knows -- one day, both you and I may graduate from our novice status:)

>>PS: Now for an honest survey... how many of PFE stock/option holders have actually tried to get Viagra ? I can bet that there are lot more shareholders on the thread than users of the drug.<<

Come on, Suresh -- how many guys would ever acknowledge a need for Viagra?? May be we should start a thread that surveys this issue -- limited to those men who are long the stock/options and they have to answer the question as to whether they also take the drug:)
