Not quite in my opinion. The GX2's never competed with the Nvidia Riva or the ATI Rage, or the Rendition V2000 series, or the Voodoo Chips, or the PowerVR chip from NEC. These chips are the high end of the mainstream especially for gaming. GX2 was, is a "middle" mainstream graphics solution and was never reviewed well in any gaming magazine that I ever read. I doubt GX3 will be in the same league as GX2, and hopefully it will compete in the high end of the mainstream and win a few contracts like the Dell XPS home desktop series, etc.

"The picture" I get hasn't quite developed yet so it must be too early to make conclusions about this new product.
