<<Does anybody know if YILD (Yield UP) is a direct competitor to SMTL's cleaning/drying tools? I've noticed their sales are zooming, at a time when SMTL's are sagging, suggesting that perhaps YILD is taking a market share from SMTL's core product lines. YILD's revenues are still only 10% of SMTL's, but I wonder if this is a sign of trouble, just the same.>>

I don't believe so....but they are very small relatively so its possible. I wouldn't be concerned so much as to YILD taking marketshare away from SMTL at this point. I haven;t seen or read anything (10Q/k) as their competition in these areas posing specific marketshare problems. Also, keep in mind, SMTL is looking to grow more so from Cu tooling than maybe their other businesses given the general "semi" slowdown.....SemiBull

OT* YILD

YILD does claim their equipment replaces spin rinser/dryers and is superior because they do not stress thin films on the wafer, so down the road a year or two YILD's technology could pose a threat to that segment of SMTL's business.

I know some time back YILD was involved in litigation with CFMT, so I would presume some competition also exists there.

Hope this helps.
