When I received my reminder call for my regular dental cleaning the receptionist inquired if I had ever taken "fen-phen diet pills." I said no and asked why and I was informed that "we now require prophylactic use of antibiotics for anyone who has used that medication in the past." (Note: Dentists have traditionally given antibiotics to patients with heart valve problems.)

I'll bet this becomes standard procedure in dental offices. Classic example of inappropriate use of antibiotics.

Best,
Jimmy Liberato
