Turbodyne Receives Purchase Order for Passenger Car Units

easdaq.be

Woodland Hills, CA - April 29, 1998 -- Turbodyne Technologies Inc.
(NASDAQ:TRBDF, EASDAQ:TRBD) announced today that Preparazioni & Autofficina Conti, a respected automotive aftermarket and performance tuning specialist in Milan, Italy, has placed an initial purchase order for a quantity of 40 units of the Turbopac~ model 1500 for use on passenger cars.

Tests on the Turbopac~ model 1500 over a six-month period met all fuel
economy and emissions objectives, while demonstrating a 25 percent average increase in rated engine power, and a 30 percent improvement in engine torque, at substantially lower engine speeds, on vehicles manufactured by Alfa-Romeo, Fiat, Volkswagen, Audi, Toyota and Rover.

The Turbopac~ was prominently featured in a recent article in "AutoTecnica", a leading Italian automotive magazine, and received tremendous attention from automobile and driving enthusiasts.

"This purchase order validates our global marketing efforts in the passenger car market, and the beginning of a distribution system," said Walter Ware, President & CEO. "We expect customer satisfaction in this market to lead to additional orders, as the interest expressed in our products is strong."

"The test results in Italy demonstrate the ability of the Turbopac~ 1500 model to improve the driveability and performance of diesel or gasoline powered passenger cars, while improving fuel economy and reducing harmful pollutant emissions," Ware continued. "This represents a unique opportunity for Turbodyne, since the Italian automotive sector consists mostly of small engines, with displacements of up to 2.5 liters, due to the heavy taxation on vehicles with large engines."

Turbodyne Systems, the high technology division of Turbodyne, manufactures, designs, markets and develops patented pollution- reduction, fuel economy and performance enhancing technology for internal combustion engines in the automotive, transportation, construction, marine, agriculture, mining, military and power generation industries. Offices and plants are located in Carpinteria, La Mirada, Encinitas and Woodland Hills, CA; Ensenada and Mexico City, Mexico; Northants, England; Frankfurt, Germany; Vancouver, Canada; and Paris, France.
