Level 3 Commun, Xcom Complete $168M Stock-Swap Merger OMAHA, Neb. (Dow Jones)--Level 3 Communications Inc. (LVLT) merged with Xcom Technologies, effective April 23, in a stock-swap transaction valued at about $168 million. In a press release Wednesday, Level 3 said the merger value, which excludes warrants, was based on a fixed exchange rate with no collars. At closing, about 2.6 million Level 3 common shares were exchanged for all of the outstanding common and preferred shares of Xcom. Xcom, Cambridge, Mass., is a competitive local exchange carrier and communications software development company.
