AMD,<<They may announce OEM agreements with HWP and Posibably GTW.>> That is even better for Dell, now they will have less competitions. If Dell want to combat sub 1000 PCs, he will do it with Mendocino, got it?
<<Dell would be forced to join in else risk not having a product offfering their competitors have.>>
You must be kidding. I had the same thought before, after a while I finally figured it out. Why would Michael waste his engineering resources evaluating AMD product? He could build more boxes with that money.

JP,

It will be interesting if AMD and GTW strike a deal, but it wouldn't surprise me. I would still specify the INTC processor when I ordered my systems, but the choice should probably be offered. (INTC will have to dodge the DOJ now, or they will be in the same 'boat' with MSFT - interesting!)

As for DELL and AMD, I would be surprised if Mikey missed an opportunity. If Mikey wants AMD, or Cyrix or any other maker, he would make a deal! DELL really does watch the bottom line.

Are you still on for the May 9400? Early or late May?

Regards,

Ken
