Great article Don! Here are some excerpts. Hope it materializes soon!

>>>This then is how the situation looks from an Israeli perspective: Ballmer believes that IP telephony will replace traditional telephony, and is keen for it to work entirely in a Windows NT 5 environment (what else?).

Ballmer even stated in his lecture that a leading Israeli IP telephony company was working in cooperation with Microsoft. I think the company in question is VocalTec, which will play a major role in the future infrastructure of Internet protocols based telephony.<<<

Don,

let's not forget that the DOJ might have some influence on
future Microsoft Internet business, though I sure would not mind
seeing a joint MSFT/VOCLF announcement, esp. as it might outweigh
the following:

biz.yahoo.com

Looks like a quite complete VoIP product portfolio. Is it overly optimistic to hope that this just means that this market is now large enough for the 'big boys' to enter the scene ?

Goetz.

PS: First post here, though I have enjoyed 'lurking' here for the last 7 months much more than the >30% loss I am sitting out on VOCLF :-)
