dumbmoney:

I forgot, what does the "C" mean? FWIW, I'm currently short three "E" stocks....SWSHE, EQMDE and PAMCE. As of Monday (I think) here are the rest of the "E" stocks:

DSYSE, DLBIE, IICRE, TRIIE, WHELE.....

dumbmoney, re. <<what do you think about examining ALL companies ending with "E" and "C" >>

I think it's a good first step in identifying prospects for further analysis by reading the filings.

Another trick, which I did last year about this time, was to go to www.edgar-online.com, and search for all 10k's filed 15 days late. Edgar online has suitable filters for doing this, and for free. These are companies that filed an NT-10k to get extra time. My idea was that 3 months is enough, so if they need extra time, there's a good chance they have poor financial controls or trouble with the audit. Looking through a dozen or so 10k's, I found a couple that I ended up shorting.

It worked well. I don't have time this year, though.
