Free 32 Mb upgrade or Virtual PC 2.0

From Macnn <macnn.com>

According to sources, Apple will begin a promotion on
Friday, offering a free 32 Mb upgrade or Virtual PC 2.0
for retail customers purchasing new G3 desktops or
minitowers. The promotion is expected to run until
mid-June. (This is similar to Apple's currently running
Spring Break '98 promo for education customers.)

Anybody out there with a list of software titles...

A number of games, like Quake2 (although usually the best ones
do get ported eventually). There was another significant one,
but I can't think of it.

Could be this one, Rhet.

It's official: Core Design, Ltd. decides to port
Tomb Raider 1 and 2 to the MacOS: Yesterday, MGL's
Mike Dixon received a response from original
developer of Tomb Raider 1 and 2, Core Design, Ltd.
about Mac versions of Tomb Raider 1 and 2.

Here's the response:

"Yes, we are going to produce Tomb Raider I
and II for the Mac. There's been so much
demand for the games that we've finally
decided to do something about it!.."

John Carmack himself (Quake's programmer extraordinaire) said he would port Quake 2 to Rhapsody. He has said in the past that NeXT was his favorite development environment of all time and is anxiously awaiting word on whether Rhapsody will support the OpenGL graphics standard to make this necessary. I suggest reading his .plan file from time to time for updates. Just finger <johnc@idsoftware.com>

I've already heard that Rhapsody's development tools will be the best ever, and that porting for the Yellow Box will be an easy task. That's what we need to get developers excited about Rhapsody.

Build it and they will come.
