Received the new edition of PC Mag (May 26) in mail. The XYBR product was given a full page review in the First Looks section (p. 76). The review was pretty positive overall. It did say the unit can "consult info stored on the hard disk or held at a central facility reached via an RF-LAN card or a wireless modem (the modem, which is not included, can be plugged into one of the 2 CardBus PC Card slots)."

Now, with licensees and partners including divisions of Sony Corp., Siemens AG, Hitachi Ltd. and Toshiba Corp., Xybernaut expects the technology "to kick in before the end of the year and you'll see some major revenue," according to Edward G. Newman, President and CEO of Xybernaut.

(That quote is from fairly long article in Bloomberg News, February 19, 1998, entitled "Xybernaut Sees Revenue Surge From Wearable PCs: Bloomberg Forum".)

Article also states "Xybernaut expects revenue both from sales of its wearable PCs made by its bigger licensees as well as from royalties from software, systems expertise and speech-recognition formulas, Newman told the Bloomberg Forum." (There are a lot of details in that article.)
