A toxic spill near Madrid is one of Spain's worst
ecological disasters. This should bring the tailings
ponds of Suncor and Syncrude back under Canandian
governmental scrutiny. These ponds, AKA 'The Lakes
Of Death', dwarf the one in Spain. Environmentalists
blame a Toronto based company, Boliden Inc. for the
spill.

Alberta residents should consider what might happen if
there was breach of the tailings ponds in there own
back yard-an ecological disaster that would effect
hundreds of thousands of acres of Canadian soil.
