Yes--I just saw the Reuter's release re> Merrill. The reason I say that about Merrill is that over the past year their analysts seem to have gotten it wrong, or late with a consistency that is appalling.
I'm not sure where she get's a $.28 estimate for 2nd quarter --it would be nice if it was elaborated.

In any case, Ciena has a lot of future upside over the long pull. I'm usually not a trader, but for the period from Nov thru Feb. I traded UNPH and CIEN between the monthly swings of 38-45. Been holding on since March.

Best regards,

Paul

>>I agree with M.Lynch that this is an 'accumulate' at the moment.
Seems like there still isn't any real positive news yet.
Today, may make the first time the price ends up above 49.
Usually, momentum traders have been running up the price high,
but it will drop significantly by end of day. (IMO)<<

Up +3 11/16 (52 1/8); times like this I don't mind
being wrong!

Is this move for real? Will it stick (above 50)?

I'm still not sure. I think the stock is going up
on hopes and wishs (AND POSSIBLY some inside information).

Anybody out there have any ideas?

DON'T BE BASHFUL....<gg>

Joe --

Here at the H & Q conference, there's a lot of talk about ATM and about WDM as the fiber backbone. I'm not surprised NN and CIEN were two of the big movers today.

More when I get home.
