Bid and thread -- FPAM will probably announce a substantial charge for this quarter as per Oppenheimer. The question is whether that charge has been factored into the stock price. dp

Good move on the broker. Let 'em find somebody else to help him make his boat payments....

As to FPA, this is a volitile one. Hopefully your (former) registered representative explained that. This was a $25 stock in November '97 and again in March '98. I don't think this is a "buy-and-hold" stock.

Consider trying Doug Fant's strategy: sell covered Calls when the stock is high; buy them back or let them expire when it's low. (And keep the tax man at bay by using the Call proceeds to adjust your basis in FPAM).
