Easy. Easy. There are several groups of SI participants. Up to now no one cared what these groups were. I see five groups:

a) Paid and Posting
b) Paid and never posted
c) Unpaid, recognized as members long ago and posting
d) Unpaid, recognized as members long ago and no posts
e) Unpaid, never signed up, don't post.

Are there more groups? If we must discuss this, let's discuss the benefits and responsibilities for each group. And, let's avoid calling them "lurkers" for it is imprecise and sounds sinister. To get the ball rolling, I say Group e will see flashing banners and Group a will see no advertising.

Just so there is no mix up with my last post:

exchange2000.com

What I was trying to say in that post was the registered "Lurkers" that did not pay. Remember way back when SI was free? If you paid for your subscription then I would say, yes, you can do what ever you like. But if they did not pay, and do not post, then they should not be grand fathered. SI is an Interactive Medium.

Again, that is my personal opinion. What ever Silicon Investor's decision is, it doesn't matter to me. It is their company.
