"This comment shows your complete ignorance towards the marketplace of broadcast DVD. How anyone in their right mind could expect a startup company to show revenues (pre 98) when the market they are going to cater to is just evolving?"

First, don't you mean broadcast digital video? What the heck is broadcast DVD? Is that some buzz-word cooked up by Innovacom to tout their DVD jukebox masterpiece?

Second, last time I checked, I was working for a startup company in a market that is just evolving. Last time I checked, we had revenues over an order of magnitude larger than Innovacom ... not too surprising since any company with actual products will make money. There will always be early adopters of good solutions and C-Cube has made and continues to make lots of money providing solutions for MPEG-2 encoding markets.

Innovacom supposedly had products based around IBM encoders. But despite your hyping all of Innovacom's products, it's pretty clear that nothing really sold. It's even more amazing when you realize Innovacom made a number of "acquisitions" like that motion picture company and that wonderful antenna company. It's a pity I don't have an archive of some classic releases Innovacom put out, like that one giving some ludicrous revenue figure for Sierra in the current fiscal year ... you do remember that one, don't you. What happened to all that acquired revenue? <poof>

As for your comment "what other companies can offer the products I stated in my earlier post?" Well, you have to be more specific. I don't recally you mentioning products. You did spew off a list of digital video and networking markets. Why don't you list the "products" that Innovacom currently has working and I'll reciprocate with some of their competitors.

You need products to ship to generate revenue. You are correct in saying that a startup may operate with negative cash flow while they get the ball rolling.

Problem is that this company has not followed through delivering on anything they have made claims about.
