To Valueman: Thanks. The huge advantage of being a "learner" here is to have people who actually know the technologies - what they can and can not do - help out folks like me. I am grateful. Now that Viasat seems not to be a candidate for my data dream, any clues what might be. Is one of the many Loral bows and arrows a possibility or is the dream just that - a dream. Please God don't make me wait for Teledisic and (choke) Gates and McCaw ! :-) There must be a better way. Or is fiber the only way massive amounts of data will move? Say it ain't so somebody. Chaz
