Dave:

Here's one take on the H&Q Conference- @Home (the superfast internet by cable company) stole the show:

@Home Ramping Through The Roof

If Netscape's morning
presentation was enough to
give conference-goers the
yawns, @Home Network's
bullish presentation in the
afternoon was like a cup of
black coffee washed down
with a six-pack of Jolt. Chief
Financial Officer Kenneth
Goldman put up slide after
slide of some of the richest,
most dynamic, and
forward-looking numbers
presented during Monday's
sessions.

So far, @Home is offering
services in 26 markets through
8 cable operators. The firm
projects that its subscriber base
will grow from 100,000 to 4
million by 2001. Mr. Goldman
said @Home will sign deals
with 8 more cable operator
partners, increasing the
number of homes its lines
potentially have access to from
6 million to 35 million. In
addition, it is also growing its
@Work business which
provides corporate Internet
access and its @Media
business which provides
content to feed @Home's very
large pipe.

But it was @Home's
90-second demonstration of
online content which really
blew the audience away.... (etc. etc.)
