Yeah, had that happen too, right after I turned in a sixpack of Coke deposit bottles to get my nickel. Luckily, it was in a store, and the shopkeeper saw fit to make me whole. Self-interest, entirely I think. My allowance went down the tubes there every week on Marvel (and very occasionally DC) comics.
