Good observation, Ken. It does seem that virtually all stocks are selling off on the earnings report, even when the numbers are better than expected. Your strategy of selling just before the earnings report seems wise. Last quarter, of course, SMMT had a huge 2-3 day rise after the prior earnings report (nearly 60% from low to high in 2-3 days). But this quarter does seem different, not just for SMMT but for nearly all stocks. I guess once the earnings are out, people assume there will be nothing left to drive the price higher in the short term. Wouldn't they be surprised if SMMT is featured again soon in IBD's "New America" section. That page is usually good for a gain of a few points. Well.. hope to "see" you back in this stock before too long.
