[ ICOS, Rainier ]

Sildenafil is another term for Viagra. The ICOS molecule is a different PDE5 inhibitor, meaning that that both drugs work by inhibiting the same enzyme. That's what is so exciting.

Try going here........

and poking around under IC351.

If you're asking how IC351 "stands up" to Viagra in a direct comparison, that's the important question. Not answered at this point, I'm certain.

But, this is the way I look at it...... ICOS is one of our top-notch companies in the sector. The other projects have been sufficient to support this market cap before the size of the potential Viagra market became apparent and before people began to realize that IC351 is proposed to have the same mechanism. So.... I think investors will now raise the target, substantially, for what ICOS can achieve. On the other hand, a lot can go wrong between phase II testing and approval by the FDA.

I really hadn't given much thought to ICOS lately until Ray posted today. I attended an ICOS presentation by Rathman, Gary Wilcox (Exec. V.P., Operations) and Lacy Fitzpatrick (Investor Relations) at this year's H&Q Healthcare Conference. I was super impressed.

BTW..... I haven't mentioned this, but IC351 is partnered with Glaxo Welcome. I know this from the H&Q presentation, but I can't find any mention of it at the site. I don't know why it's not listed at the site or why Glaxo is not listed under "collaborators".

Cheers! Rick
