I got stopped out at $48 today. I wouldn't mind getting back in as I like what I've found out about the company since getting in on the IPO.

I'm not sure how everyone has arrived at $40 as being an entry point. There can be no reason for this as it is impossible to apply any technical indicators to this stock at such an early stage of trading.

After further research, I see the following short-term problems plaguing BRCM's stock price:

1. Small float keeping institutions away - for now

2. Unmarginable until 5/18

3. Underwriters disallowed from issuing analyst reports until 30 day
quite period comes to an end

4. H&Q forbidden to speak about BRCM at their, highly regarded, technology conference currently in progress (quite period)

5. Small investors growing impatient with current lack of buyers.

Based on above info and competitive analysis, a quick fall to 36 or 38 is possible but more likely will drop to around $40 1/2 (based on mass expectations/hopes of a $40 re-entry price - MM's monitor these threads).

Get ready to buy or add to positions.

JP

I just think the enthusiasm for this stock was unbridled. Look at Ziff-Davis, great IPO but it only went up $2 on its first day. Just because a company is great and has a lot of potential doesn't mean that the next 5 years of potential should be built into the price. I mean this stock was initially priced to sell at $12! It will come down maybe even to the $30's who knows how far down. I think I will start picking some up a little bit at a time as it drops below $40. That way I can average down until it hits bottom but not miss a runup if there is any.
