Shoot,
not quickly. Understanding Edgar filings is a tedious thjng. But the most reliable source You can get Your hands on. But beware. Reporting doesn't mean a good investment.

I always look for the number : SHARES AUTHORIZED and shares issued. They tell You most clues..

Absolutely and a lot more. I do not focus on the bad or just one section read the entire document and study it. Look for key things and the filings. Go the SEC site and read up on filings and proper avenues the company has to take to do certain things.

This tells you from where they came and the current and potential is another thing all together.
