I have to say, the name sorta landed on my eyeballs with a thud. But, then with a name like Jack Frosch, I'm the last one to make fun of another's name!

I know INPRISE is supposed to be based on INtegrate the EnterPRISE. However, I think INPRISE sounds more like, that is rolls off the tongue more like, the word REPRISE.

Reprise, among other things, means: "a recurrence, renewal, or resumption of an action; a separate or repeated occurrence; "a renewal of attack following a return to guard in fencing."

From reprise, we get the word reprisal, which means, "the regaining of something (as by recapture)."

You get the idea. Perhaps INPRISE will be Borland's REPRISE; a renewal leading to its taking back the market leadership position it once held.

Well, it was a thought...

Inprise Corporation!

It got your attention!(Harsh - Great!)

"Integrating the Enterprise", broad, all encompassing.

Encompasses our "Information Network" strategy and our direction "to the enterprise".

Does Pentium ring a bell??? (Same folks)

Borland brand strong - for development tools, for independent developers.

CIO's didn't understand Borland in the enterprise. They understand "cross platform, open & scalable middleware" They understand "distributed object computing", the next wave of computer technology.

CIO's have budgets for the "radical simplification of developing, deploying & managing distributed enterprise applications".

Inprise Visibroker & Inprise Application Server.

How about International Business Machines? Catchy, isn't it.

We had a great day!!!

Thanks for your support.
