Great economic data just came out - wages up less than expected, GDP up way more than expected, consumer spending up more than than any time in the last six years. S&P futures just ZOOMED to +9 points which corresponds to a Dow open about 50 points higher.

Perception seems to be that wages are in check, the economy is extremely productive, and people are spending at least a large part of the productivity increase to further accelerate the velocity of the money in the economy.

If the initial perception holds this could start another big leg on the bull market.

A Market Reversal??

Ray:

Looks like we are getting a significant A/D line bounce today... If the DOW can close above 9064 soon, we are on our way to challenge the old closing high of 9172...

The ECI (Employment Cost Index) came in at .07% against a 1.0% expectation... The ECI is the latest Holy Grail indicator for the Greenspan Gang... This means no FED hike in MAY...

*TX* ok, I bit on your link, Ray-O-Vac.

ze.net

but I have to wonder about someone who ta's an A/D line chart like it's a stock price chart. As far as I'm concerned, the nyse a/d line chart is Beautiful, Bountiful, Gorgeous! How can anyone take exception with it? I don't understand. My experience with a/d lines is, if they aren't rising with the broad market, then it's a warning sign of a divergence in the market, i.e., most stocks are not participating in the bull run. That a/d chart tells me that most stocks ARE participating. Therefore, this run up has a lot further to go still.
Furthermore, trendlines on an a/d line chart is virtually...no, *absolutely* meaningless.
